Alex...

I spoke to Alex Saturday afternoon. We were talking about a new car he was going to test drive on Sunday before joining us all for the Dolphins game at Quarterdeck on Las Olas. It had become a weekly 'tradition' for us...meeting at QD for the games.

I don't think it's hit me yet that it won't be the same without Alex around. A bunch of us watched the game yesterday from QD and it just seemed incomplete without Alex around.

I'm starting this "blog" as a place that we can all share...

My heart is heavy with sadness. Alex is one of those special people you feel fortunate to know. He touched so many with his bright smile, cheerful personality and intelligence. My deepest sympathy to Alex's family and friends for the loss of such a wonderful person.

We're going to miss you, Alex. You touched so many people with your 'short stories' and your laughter. You thrived at anything athletic, although your dart-playing skills always needed work!! I know you loved being a cop and you helped so many people from destroying themselves through your dedicated years of service. The Hollywood PD, and this world, will be a very different place without you...

Your family and friends always knew they could count on you for that crazy smile or for a helping hand. We all knew we could always count on you. You redefined the word 'friend' to me and many others...

I was honored to be your 'wing man' at times and would give anything to be it just once more. Until then, my friend, God will take care of you and find you a new one...this time with real wings....

God speed, my friend....

You were always my secret crush. Alex You will be missed like crazy honey. I remember our last picnic at the park how Brandon tricked you into following him to the slides and then didn't let you leave. Anyone who runs after my munchkin is #1 on my list. We will all MISS you very much. May GOD keep you. Love
